Literature translation and Chinese acculturation – The case of Vietnam and Japan

Abstract . It is said that most of the cultures around the world have experienced the processes of formation, development, rubbing and exchanges to take shape like they are today. Translation in general, along with literary translation in particular have contributed to that whole processes. From the ancient times, Vietnam and Japan have used translation as an efficient method in acquiring culture from the giant neighbor China and gradually built up their national culture. However, because of the differences in geographical location, in ethnic characteristics and in thinking tradition, acculturation with Chinese culture through translation in Vietnam and Japan followed different paths .


Elements of magic realism in contemporary Japanese literature

ABSTRACT .Magic Realism was actually a literary movement  related to the outbreak of Latin American literature in the 1960s - 1970s. With the appearing of many masterpieces, magic realist method spread out all over the world. Japan is among the experimenters of this new writing style. Fantasizing the reality, mixing the real with the virtual elements, upsetting the linear of time and using the religious archetypes are specific characteristics of many works of Japanese contemporary literature. Sharing some general features, Japanese literature as well as the other national literatures have found for themselves their own specifically magical realism.

Progress of birth of Shintaishi is one that went from poetry translation to poetry creativity, a case of typical creating of genre that we can obviously observe. It enables us to find out some problems of art creativity.
