ABSTRACT
Nikolai Ivanovich Nikulin is a famous Russian scholar of Vietnamese studies. With more than half a century of dedicating to Vietnam, Nikulin has left a huge legacy of research on Vietnamese culture, history and literature. He was especially interested in classical Vietnamese poets, including Nguyen Dinh Chieu. Nikulin's writings on Nguyen Dinh Chieu were mainly published in the 1970s and 1980s. His views on the life and works of Nguyen Dinh Chieu can give us some historical and theoriotical ideas in studying classical Vietnamese literature.
